Tonight is the night for fans of William Shatner’s Weird or What? At 10:15 (ET/PT) tonight, Weird or What?returns for a third season on History Television in Canada, and it’s bound to be another interesting, strange season.
Delving into mysteries that have no explanations, Weird or What? is hosted by the famed Canadian actor, and looks into odd happenings around the world, and then looks for possible explanations with scientific and supernatural sources.
The official description of the show calls it, “an irresistible journey into the eerie, the unknown, and the unexplained,” but what I love the most is that the series takes the mysteries seriously, and looks at them from a number of angles, letting the viewer come up with the final decision on what they’ve seen.
Weird or What? is also the genuine article, avoiding the hysteria seen among other shows like it.
Catch it each Monday on History Television in Canada and follow the series on Facebook.
Episode 1 synopsis: “Amazing Survival”

Three incredible stories of people who cheated death: on 9/11, a man survives impossible odds in the collapse of the World Trade Center; a Texas man is cut in two by a freak rail accident; a safari guide in Zimbabwe is savagely attacked by a hippo but lives to tell his story.

TV Show Promo of the Day: J.J. Abrams — of AliasLost, and Fringe fame — is at the helm of Revolution, a new drama set in a post-apocalyptic world 15 years “after the lights went out” — or when a mysterious electromagnetic pulse threw humanity back into the 19th century, without cars, phones, or (gasp!) the Internet. Premieres this fall on NBC.

Stunning. I can’t wait. Here’s a question though. Did J.J. Abrams rip off author S.M. Stirling’s concept from ‘Dies The Fire’? Suspiciously similar.

Game of Thrones season 1 blu-ray commentary title opening sung by the Stark children, Sansa, Arya and Bran. I just want to squeeze them, so adorable.

Epic! It’s an amazing Blu-ray collection—love the features.

Sometimes emails can be surprisingly awesome. Just got an email tonight from Mr. Colin Ferguson of Eureka fame. He’s coming to town for the Wizard World Toronto Comic Con and I’m just setting up an interview with him. Pretty cool though to get the email from the man himself directly, since it usually doesn’t work that way. Stay tuned for the video next week!

We’re all about Lost Girl right now, so here’s another video from the full cast interview on the set last weekend.

Plus, we’ll have one more of these for you tomorrow.

Anna Silk and Kris Holden-Ried on set for the Finale Pre-Show

Earlier today, brought a select group of Lost Girl fans together in to watch the second-to-the-last episode of season two and spend some time with the cast.

The special event was taped on the set of the Dal Riata, the Fae bar on the series, and will air on Sunday, April 1 at 8:00 PM ahead of the season two finale at 9:00 PM on Showcase.

Because of all the hardcore fans in attendance, who won their way into the event, there was a definite party mood throughout the whole afternoon, and all the stars who came out seemed to have a blast playing off the crowd, not to mention joking around with host , who is also one of the show’s writers.

The ‘Lost Girl’ Pre-Show

Okay, as a fan of the series this is pretty brilliant.

I just got an email invitation to the Lost Girl Pre-Show that’s taping for the season finale of the series. Later this month they’re inviting fans and media down to watch the Lost Girl finale on the set, and the whole event will be hosted by series’ writer Steve Cochrane.

On top of that, the cast will be in attendance as well, including Anna Silk, Kris Holden-Ried, Ksenia Solo, Zoie Palmer, K.C. Collins and Rick Howland.

There is also a good chance for interviews, which is very cool since I’ve never interviewed Palmer or Solo, and it’s been a while since I spoke to Mr. Holden-Ried.

Yeah, I won’t hide it—I am kind of geeking out about this.

Amy Price-Francis as Jessica King
Andrew: So, looking back, what made you want to play Jessica King to begin with?
Price-Francis: “Plain and simple, the writing. This writing, for an actor, is an incredible gift, and the creation of this character, again, is just dreamy. It doesn’t come along very often, and I’m well aware how lucky I am.”
“She drew me in. It was love at first read.”
Andrew: We don’t get a lot of really strong female characters in Canada, maybe not even on television at all, but she’s got a lot of story to tell. Would you say the character has progressed a lot from the first to the second season?
Price-Francis: “Absolutely, and that’s what makes our show stand out. We do have the procedural elements, but we delve into her personal life; we know what’s going on with her, we know what she’s dealing with–what struggles she’s having at home, and we get to watch somebody, like anybody out there, who’s trying to find that balance, and how our work affects our life and how our life affects our work. It’s not an easy thing I think for anybody to find that balance, it’s a never-ending journey I’d say.”
