Daniel Radcliffe and ‘The Woman in Black’

Got any questions for Harry Potter Daniel Radcliffe? Let me know—I’m interviewing him on Friday for his new film, The Woman in Black, and I would be curious to hear what some of you would ask him.

Admittedly, I can’t ask him a lot of questions, but if you have a good question, leave it in the comments and I’ll see what I can do.

If you’re wondering, the film is a creepy supernatural thriller (which comes across as an edge-of-your-seat scare-fest) with Radcliffe playing Arthur Kipps, a lawyer suffering from grief after his wife died who “is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric.” Arthur discovers that there is more going on in the scary village though, and they are all trying to keep a frightening secret from him—namely that the vengeful ghost still haunts the house where he is living and she will stop at nothing until she finds something she has lost.

The Woman In Black opens in theatres on Friday, February 3.

"‘Harry Potter’ passes ‘Star Wars’ to become the highest grossing franchise of all time"

Err, lets frame that more honestly, shall we?

‘Harry Potter’ passes ‘Star Wars’ to become the highest grossing franchise of all time, as long as you don’t adjust for inflation

Check out Box Office Mojo if you want the real deal, where you’ll note the original Star Wars film alone would have grossed $1,400,020,000 by todays standards.

As they say in their own article:

But before everyone in the comments starts screaming, “INFLATION!” let’s clear up any ambiguity. Star Wars remains the most attended franchise in domestic box office history, as it has sold over twice as many tickets as Harry Potter.

Just to be clear, box office dollars are meaningless, and modern films just don’t draw in as many people as they used to, but Hollywood will never talk about attendence, so there you go.

Terrible dilemma of the day: Go to the Harry Potter movie screening tomorrow night in Toronto or shoot the black carpet arrivals at Casa Loma

Since I’m also going to the midnight screening on Thursday night it’s clearly no decision at all—I’m going to shoot the carpet, but the geek in me is very torn. I want to see the movie now!

It’s still all ending!

Does this have anything to do with the rapture? Was it postponed until July 15?

The Onion has the scoop: Final minutes of last Harry Potter movie to be split into seven separate films.
