UPDATE 2: Still no official press release from the Academy, or 100% confirmation on this, but it’s looking pretty likely that Crystal will host the Oscars as originally thought.
UPDATE: False alarm, apparently, as the Academy has confirmed no host has been picked. Apparently Crystal was just joking.
Could not be happier that Billy Crystal is hosting the Oscars. He’s a fantastic, if safe, choice and it’s way overdue. Actor confirmed the news on Twitter:
